Final winners at Meet

Six main stakes finals were staged for the younger pups at the NGA Spring Meet on Thursday (Apr. 25), with six different owners emerging.

Kevin Dalton’s Great Play (CTW Speedy Trent-Oneco Esmerelda) started the day in the November One, winning from the one box in a 30.16, one of the quickest times of the day. Littermate Final Vote was second, and Steve Ward’s SE’s Redneck Rob (Red Ranger-Trophy Snatcher) was third.

Travis Bartley’s Amazing Chesney (Amazing Andrew) won the November Two stake in a quick 30.10 (fastest time of the day), followed by Vince Berland’s Flying Warmonger (Rico’s Vintage-Flying Midnite) and Samantha West’s CTW Ian Kinsler (CTW Plaza Rio-CTW A La Carte).

In the first of the December mains, Ken Biehle’s KB’s Santa Rosa (Flying Coal City-BI’s Hunter) tallied a win in 30.37. She was followed by kennelmates KB’s Hotmama (Yahoo Omar-USS Hot Head) and KB’s Rocket City (littermate to Santa Rosa).

Gene Butler’s Ace High (Hi Noon Hero-Okgo Box To Wire) took home the December Two main stake with a 30.17 time. He was followed by Berland’s Flying PLatinum (BD’s Grayson-Flying Liddy), with Dick Figurilli’s and Steve Ward’s SE’s Ella (Kiowa Mon Manny-Figs Ella) and Biehle’s KB’s Santa Rita (littermate to Santa Rosa and Rocket City) dead-heating for third.

Berland’s Flying Sebastian (BD’s Grayson-Flying Witness) took home the trophy in the lone January main-stake final. His winning time was 30.45, and he was followed by John Boyd’s Craigie Charlie (Kelsos Fusileer-Craigie Crimson) and Berland’s Flying Chaos (BD’s Grayson-Flying Joplin).

In the only February main-stake final, Gordon and Bonnie Heath’s Go Bon Freebee (Kelsos Fusileer-Go Bon Jitterbug) captured the win. She was followed by Bartley’s B’s Headliner and B’s Silver Wings, littermates out of BD’s Grayson-Odd Cherie.

Finals of the two older divisions (August/September and October stakes) will be Friday morning at 9 a.m. Hall Of Fame awards ceremonies are slated for tonight beginning at 6 p.m. (cocktail party, awards at 7 p.m.) at the museum.
