Valley Race Park to Host 36-day Live Meet in November 2016
Texas Racing Commission Approves Texas Industry Plan
(Harlingen, TX) – – Valley Race Park announced today that it will hold a 36-day live greyhound race meet beginning on Friday, November 25, 2016. The Texas Racing Commission approved the Harlingen, Texas racetrack’s racing schedule at its April meeting held last week in Austin. The 36-day meet, which will kick off the day after Thanksgiving, will be the first live race meet held at the greyhound track since 2013 and the first extended meet since 2009.
“We are very excited to bring this particular live race meet to Valley Race Park,” said Valley Race Park President Andrea B. Young, “We have already received an unprecedented amount of interest from breeders and owners. The purse structure and format will be extremely attractive. We look forward to working with the City of Harlingen and the Texas Greyhound Association to put together a great meet.”
